How to Use CBD Oil in Baking
What if you could enjoy CBD as a fresh baked good? Guess what? You can! Using CBD in baking is really easy and provides amazing therapeutic relief without any of the high. More people are using CBD in baking because it actually increases how long the effects of CBD can last on the body.
Although it takes longer to feel the effects than other methods of delivery, CBD infused edibles provide the longest lasting results. When eaten as food, the CBD is released gradually into the digestive system, leading to effects lasting on the body 2-4 hours longer than other forms of CBD.
CBD can easily be added to baked good recipes such as brownies or cookies. When done properly, you have the ideal dose of CBD inside each item of food for the day, making it a convenient way for taking CBD daily. CBD edibles are especially effective for those with mood disorders, stomach pain and intestinal issues like Crohn’s Disease. Because the CBD is absorbed directly into the GI tract, it helps to ease the afflicted area so the individual can handle to ingest more food. The long lasting effects from CBD edibles also assist those with mood disorders by helping them to feel stabled throughout the day and often works longer than many narcotics prescribed to individuals for pain.
Using CBD in baking is quite simple, but there are a few important things to remember. If done incorrectly, you risk losing a lot of CBD potency which could result in making the edibles less useful.
Pay Attention to Temperature
The boiling point for CBD is between 320°-356°F. If baked at a higher temperature, you run the risk of evaporating the CBD oil which would cause your infused edibles to lose its CBD potency.
Use the Right Serving Size
It is important to keep serving size in mind when adding CBD oil to your baked goods. Dividing the total serving size of the recipe by the amount of CBD oil being added will result in the amount of CBD in each individual serving. For example, if you add 100mg of CBD to a brownie recipe that makes a serving size of 24, than each brownie would contain about 4mg of CBD. Now, 4mg of CBD is a very low subtle dose of CBD. So, if you are used to taking more CBD in a day, simply add more CBD until you get your desired amount. A commonly desired CBD amount in a single serving is 25mg.
Choose the Right Recipe
When looking for a great recipe to add your CBD oil, make sure to pick one with a fatty ingredient like butter or oil. Because CBD is a fat soluble, it needs to be added to the fat in order to work. Cookies, brownies or cupcakes are popular baked goods to infuse with CBD oil.
